As your first point of contact, our physicians are readily available to provide the best possible evidence-based care for you. Your health is our priority and we take care in delivering comprehensive and compassionate primary healthcare services in the field of general practice.
Our General Medicine Services Include:
Consultation with Our General Practitioners
The consultation allows you the opportunity to talk about your symptoms and what may be concerning you. Our doctors will listen carefully and may ask you further questions to help find out what may be the problem. They will then examine you in order to make a diagnosis. A treatment plan will then be discussed with you and if needed medicines will be given to you or prescribed to treat your condition. Sometimes further tests such as blood tests, ECG (heart recording) and swabs may be needed to make the correct diagnosis and we have highly qualified staff and facilities in our primary care health center.
Acute and Chronic Condition Management
Acute conditions are those that come on quickly such as fevers, allergic reactions, chest infections, urinary infections or cuts, bruises and so on. They need attention immediately to get you better.
Our general practitioners are knowledgeable and well equipped to manage such conditions.
Chronic diagnoses include such conditions as Diabetes, Hypertension, Thyroid disorders, raised Cholesterol, Asthma and Heart disease to name but a few.
Our General Practitioners will provide individualized care and treatment plans, advise you on managing and living with these conditions and prescribe any long term medications you may need.
They will also discuss and guide you through any lifestyle changes that might be required.
Wellness Checks and Lab Investigations
An annual wellness check is a really good investment in your health. It can be thought of as a screening process to identify any potential abnormalities early so that corrective action can be taken to prevent potential future serious illness. Our doctors will do a detailed consultation with you and ask some important questions that allow them to explore your lifestyle and any needs that you may have. They will then carry out a full clinical examination followed by an ECG and blood tests to pick up any abnormalities. Following this the doctor will present the results of any tests and investigations to you and explain what they mean. Most importantly the doctors will then advise you on what treatments and lifestyle changes might be necessary so that you can lead the healthiest life possible.
Looking After the Whole Family
General Practitioners are also known as Family Doctors. They take a holistic approach to healthcare and will work with you as a whole family. Your age, gender and family history are relevant to your health and any screening tests that might be required. As your primary care provider our General Practitioners will address and serve the needs of all generations of your family while at the same time setting health goals, provide individualized care and treatment plans and monitor your health with regular checks.
General Medicine FAQs
A General Practitioner (GP), also known as a Family Doctor, is a qualified medical doctor who specializes in General Medicine. They see patients of all ages — from babies to the elderly — and act as your first point of contact for healthcare. GPs can manage both acute (sudden onset) and chronic (long-term) illnesses, while also providing preventative care to keep you healthy and help prevent disease.
General Practitioners treat a wide range of conditions, including coughs, colds, sore throats, ear infections, chest pain, stomach upsets, diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, joint and muscle pains, sprains, backache, fatigue, sleep problems, headaches, migraines, skin rashes, lumps and bumps, and minor cuts that may need suturing.
Feel free to discuss anything that concerns you — all consultations are completely confidential.
Doctors are experienced in dealing with all kinds of medical issues, so there’s no need to feel embarrassed.
The more information you provide, the easier it is for your doctor to make an accurate diagnosis and offer the best treatment.
If possible, bring a list of any medicines you’re taking (or the actual medicines themselves),
along with results from any previous tests or investigations from other clinics.
If your doctor recommends blood tests, they can be done right here at the clinic. Once the results are ready, our doctors will contact you to explain the findings and discuss any next steps or treatments required.
An ECG, or electrocardiogram, is a quick and painless test that records the electrical activity of your heart. It helps your doctor assess how well your heart is functioning and detect any signs of potential disease. This procedure can be done conveniently at our clinic.
In some cases, your doctor may recommend treatment with injections or intravenous (IV) fluids — commonly known as a drip — to deliver medication or fluids directly into your bloodstream. Our clinic is fully equipped with the necessary facilities to provide these treatments safely and efficiently.
After assessing your condition, your GP might recommend further specialist tests or refer you to a consultant. We have in-house Specialists and Consultants in Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics & Gynecology. For other specialties, we partner with King’s College Hospital Dubai and can arrange direct referrals — often with appointments available the same or next day.
We work with a large number of health insurance providers. Simply check with our reception team to confirm your specific coverage for consultations and treatments with our General Practitioners.
